Last Week of School

Our last day of school held a lot of activity as we wound up the school year and the students took action on several items of importance.  After purchasing solar panel lids for our terrariums and putting money into a small party, we still had money left from our marketplace that needed a home.  The students had been debating the end product of this for quite some time so it was crunch time this week to make a decision.  With much debate and good communication the students decided to split the donations to the Oncology Unit at MedCentral, The Domestic Violence Shelter of Mansfield and Friendly House in Mansfield.  The main focus was to keep the donations local as the children decided that they wanted to support local charities.  We had a visit from Mr. Terry of Friendly House to collect the check and he expressed his great thanks on behalf of Friendly House for their kind donation.  We also had a visit from Patti Kastelic and Sandy Miller from Med Central.  They talked to us about how the money will go towards buying a variety of head coverings for patients who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.  We are looking forward to seeing what awesome designs they choose to buy!

Below are some pictures of our last week in the 4th grade!!!
